When the Lord commanded: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image" (Ex. 20: 3-4), He meant that we should not exalt the objects of creation above the Creator. Our love for Nature, family, friends, duties, and possessions should not occupy the supreme throne in our hearts. That is where God belongs.
